I am now 33 years old, but my battle with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) began when I was just five years old. I have gone through two bone marrow transplants receiving marrow from my brother.
I had many complications which resulted in my spending a lot of time in the hospital, but I am so very thankful for all the research that has helped me get through those tough days.
Fifteen years later, I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). After 2 1/2 years of treatment I can now say that again I am cancer free!
It has been quite a journey - THANK YOU to all who walk and give time and money towards research for more and more kids survive leukemia!
