At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night we gather as a community to celebrate, honor, and remember those touched by blood cancers. Friends, families, schools, corporate teams, and sponsors join together to bring light to the darkness of cancer. The funds raised by this community fund lifesaving research, advocacy and support for blood cancer patients and their families. Join us in the fight to cure cancer!

Date: Friday October 18th, 2024

Event Location: Scissortail Park, 300 SW 7th st., OKC, OK 73109

Parking Logistics: Free street parking, paid parking on the west side of the park and there are several parking garages in the area.

Event Festivities: 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Opening Ceremony/Walk: 7:15 PM

How long is the walk? Approximately 1 mile

What is allowed at the event: 

  • Service Animals
  • Dogs
  • Strollers
  • Wheelchairs
  • Scooters
  • Skateboards
  • Hoverboards

Is there a bag policy? No, there is not a bag policy

Can participants turn in donations at the event? Cash and checks will not be accepted at the walk, but there will be ways to donate digitally the night of the event. All other donations can be sent to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Red River Region P.O. Box 772395, Detroit, MI 48277-2395

Will there be food? Food for purchase will be available on site. Please bring all forms of payment.

What if it rains on the event day? The in-person event is rain or shine.

Is the event appropriate for children? Yes! Light The Night is a multi-generational event! The Kids Zone will feature many different games and activities for children.

How can I pick up a lantern? All registered participants receive a lantern to be picked up at the Lantern Tent at the walk.

Do kids need to register? Children 12 years old and younger do not need to register but must be accompanied by an adult to receive a lantern at the event.

How do I get a T-shirt? All registered participants who raise $100+ on their individual fundraising page will receive a t-shirt that can be picked up at the walk.

What incentives are there for reaching fundraising milestones?

$100 - Become a Champion for a Cure to receive the official t-shirt

$1,000 - Bright Lights will receive a long-sleeve shirt and get exclusive access to the VIP Tent at the event

It is highly recommended that all blood cancer patients or other immunocompromised individuals check with their healthcare provider before attending this event. While at the event, we urge our community to respect anyone’s choice to continue to take precautions like masking or social distancing.

There will also be a virtual event experience provided for any participants who would prefer to not join us in-person, held on November 19, 2024.

We acknowledge some participants might need ADA accommodations. We do our best to provide these accommodations at every location, however, depending on weather and venues, it may be difficult for participants using wheelchairs to move freely around all areas of specific walk sites. If you have questions or need support, please call us at 888-557-7177 in advance to discuss accommodations. Meeting the needs of all participants is very important to the Light The Night experience.

At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night we gather as a community to celebrate, honor, and remember those touched by blood cancers. Friends, families, schools, corporate teams, and sponsors join together to bring light to the darkness of cancer. The funds raised by this community fund lifesaving research, advocacy and support for blood cancer patients and their families. Join us in the fight to cure cancer!

Event Location: Spring Rock Park, 4400 Central Ave, Western Springs, IL 60558

Parking Logistics: Our event will take place at the LOWER parking lot near the hockey rinks at Spring Rock Park. The upper parking lot at Central Avenue and Elm Street will be reserved for ADA and participants that have earned VIP parking. Participants can find additional parking on the street, downtown near the Metra, and other nearby businesses.

Event Festivities: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Opening Ceremony/Walk: 6:30 PM

How long is the walk? Approximately 1 mile

What is allowed at the event: 

  • Dogs are allowed on leash, but not allowed in the VIP tent. We kindly ask you to pick up after them.
  • Strollers
  • Wheelchairs
  • Wagons

Is there a bag policy? No, there is not a bag policy

Can participants turn in donations at the event?  Cash and checks will not be accepted at the walk, but there will be ways to donate digitally the night of the event. All other donations can be sent to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Illinois Region P.O. Box 772395 Detroit, MI 48277-2395.

Will there be food? Yes! Food for purchase will be available on site from 5:00 PM-6:25 PM. Please bring all forms of payment.

What if it rains on the event day? The in-person event is rain or shine.

Is the event appropriate for children? Yes! Light The Night is a multi-generational event! The Kids Zone will feature many different games and activities for children.

How can I pick up a lantern? All registered participants receive a lantern to be picked up at the Lantern Tent at the walk.

Do kids need to register? Children 12 years old and younger do not need to register but must be accompanied by an adult to receive a lantern at the event.

How do I get a T-shirt? All registered participants who raise $100+ on their individual fundraising page will receive a t-shirt that can be picked up at the walk.

What incentives are there for reaching fundraising milestones?

$100 - Become a Champion for a Cure to receive the official t-shirt

$1,000 - Bright Lights will receive a long-sleeve shirt and get exclusive access to the VIP Tent at the event


It is highly recommended that all blood cancer patients or other immunocompromised individuals check with their healthcare provider before attending this event. While at the event, we urge our community to respect anyone’s choice to continue to take precautions like masking or social distancing.

There will also be a virtual event experience provided for any participants who would prefer to not join us in-person, held on November 19, 2024.

We acknowledge some participants might need ADA accommodations. We do our best to provide these accommodations at every location, however, depending on weather and venues, it may be difficult for participants using wheelchairs to move freely around all areas of specific walk sites. If you have questions or need support, please call us at 888-557-7177 in advance to discuss accommodations. Meeting the needs of all participants is very important to the Light The Night experience.

  • Only Service Animals
  • Strollers
  • Wheelchairs

Is there a bag policy? Bags will be checked at the stadium. There is no policy regarding look or size.

Parking: Polar Bear Lot (6228 Berthold Ave, St. Louis, MO 63139) located next to the Berthold Parking Garage

Penguin Lot (6212 Oakland Ave, St. Louis, MO 63139 ), accessible via Oakland Avenue

Access to these parking areas will be marked with signs and can be found at the Hampton exit on Highway 64. We will have additional shuttles available to help move traffic. The visitor lot next to Cricket Field is still first come, first serve, however, we encourage everyone to save those spots for handicapped/ADA parking. We are thankful for the St. Louis Zoo for allowing us to use their lots for Light The Night.

Is the event appropriate for children? Yes! Light The Night is a multi-generational event! The Kids Zone will feature face painting, balloon twisting, bounce house, button making, poster decorating, kids games and activities.

How/where can I pick up a lantern? All registered participants receive a lantern to be picked up at the Lantern Tent at the walk.

Do all guests receive a t-shirt? All registered participants who raise $100+ will receive a t-shirt that can be picked up at the walk.

Are there Incentives for reaching fundraising milestones? Yes! There are a ton of fun incentives you can achieve for your fundraising including:

$100 - Become a Champion for a Cure (t-shirt)

$1,000 - Become a Bright Light (exclusive Light The Night performance, long-sleeve shirt along with VIP Pavilion passes and recognition at the event!)
