At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night we gather as a community to celebrate, honor, and remember those touched by blood cancers. Friends, families, schools, corporate teams, and sponsors join together to bring light to the darkness of cancer. The funds raised by this community fund lifesaving research, advocacy and support for blood cancer patients and their families. Join us in the fight to cure cancer!

It is highly recommended that all blood cancer patients or other immunocompromised individuals check with their healthcare provider before attending this event. While at the event, we urge our community to respect anyone’s choice to continue to take precautions like masking or social distancing.

There will also be a virtual event experience provided for any participants who would prefer to not join us in-person, held on November 19, 2024.

We acknowledge some participants might need ADA accommodations. We do our best to provide these accommodations at every location, however, depending on weather and venues, it may be difficult for participants using wheelchairs to move freely around all areas of specific walk sites. Event Location: Sutter Health Park, 400 Ballpark Dr. West Sacramento, CA 95691

Parking Logistics: Free parking available in lot.

Event Festivities: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Opening Ceremony/Walk: 7:00 PM

Post Event Festivities: Begin immediately after walk.

How long is the walk? Approximately 1 mile

What is allowed at the event: 

  • Only Service Animals
  • Strollers
  • Wheelchairs

Is there a bag policy?

Yes, Sutter Health Ballpark will be enforcing a Clear Bag Policy. Small clutches or wallets larger than 5”x 8” must be clear. Please see image below for approved and non-approved bags.

To ensure a smooth check in process on walk night, here is what you can expect upon arrival at Sutter Health Park:

Metal Detectors: For the safety of all attendees, guests will pass through a metal detector upon entering the ballpark. Please allow extra time and plan accordingly with your friends and family to get through the line. Prohibited Items include Outside food or beverages (Snacks and unopened beverages are okay), Animals (except certified service animals), Scooters or bikes (may enter but cannot be ridden inside the stadium or on the warning track), Fireworks, Weapons of any kind.

Can participants turn in donations at the event? Cash and checks will not be accepted at the walk, but there will be ways to donate digitally the night of the event. All other donations can be sent to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Central Valley Region PO Box 102488 Pasadena, CA 91189-2488. 

Will there be food? Yes! Food for purchase will be available on site. Please bring all forms of payment.

What if it rains on the event day? The in-person event is rain or shine.

Is the event appropriate for children? Yes! Light The Night is a multi-generational event! The Kids Zone will feature many different games and activities for children.

How can I pick up a lantern? All registered participants receive a lantern to be picked up at the Lantern Tent at the walk.

Do kids need to register? Children 12 years old and younger do not need to register but must be accompanied by an adult to receive a lantern at the event.

How do I get a T-shirt? All registered participants who raise $100+ on their individual fundraising page will receive a t-shirt that can be picked up at the walk.

What incentives are there for reaching fundraising milestones?

$100 - Become a Champion for a Cure to receive the official t-shirt

$1,000 - Bright Lights will receive a long-sleeve shirt and get exclusive access to the VIP Tent at the event

Event Location: Centerpiece Park at Century Plaza Towers, 2000 Avenue of the Stars, Los Angeles, CA 90067

Parking Logistics: There are two entry points to the underground parking. The first is 10058 Constellation Blvd. and is accessible from Avenue of the Stars and Century Park East. The other entry point is near 2049 Century Park East Tower, and is accessible from Olympic & Santa Monica Blvd. All Light The Night attendees who self-park in the garage after 3:00 PM will be able to exit for a flat rate of $5. No parking validation will be needed.

Event Festivities: 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Opening Ceremony/Walk: 6:30 PM

Post Event Festivities: 7:45 PM

About Light The Night

At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night we gather as a community to celebrate, honor, and remember those touched by blood cancers. Friends, families, schools, corporate teams, and sponsors join together to bring light to the darkness of cancer. The funds raised by this community fund lifesaving research, advocacy and support for blood cancer patients and their families. Join us in the fight to cure cancer!

Date: Friday, October 25, 2024

Event Location: Reston Town Center, 11900 Market St., Reston, VA 20190.

Parking Logistics: Parking is available for free after 4pm in the parking garages in the town center. 

Event Festivities: 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Opening Ceremony/Walk: 7:00 PM

Post Event Festivities: 8:30 PM Laser Light Show

How long is the walk? Approximately 1 mile

What is allowed at the event: 

  • Service Animals
  • Dogs
  • Strollers
  • Wheelchairs
  • Scooters
  • Skateboards
  • Hoverboards

Is there a bag policy? No, there is not a bag policy

Can participants turn in donations at the event? Cash and checks will not be accepted at the walk, but there will be ways to donate digitally the night of the event. All other donations can be sent to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Mid-Atlantic Region P.O. Box 22470 New York, NY  10087-2470

Will there be food? Yes! Food for purchase will be available on site. Please bring all forms of payment.

What if it rains on the event day? The in-person event is rain or shine.

Is the event appropriate for children? Yes! Light The Night is a multi-generational event! The Kids Zone will feature many different games and activities for children.

How can I pick up a lantern? All registered participants receive a lantern to be picked up at the Lantern Tent at the walk.

Do kids need to register? Children 12 years old and younger do not need to register but must be accompanied by an adult to receive a lantern at the event.

How do I get a T-shirt? All registered participants who raise $100+ on their individual fundraising page will receive a t-shirt that can be picked up at the walk.

What incentives are there for reaching fundraising milestones?

$100 - Become a Champion for a Cure to receive the official t-shirt

$1,000 - Bright Lights will receive a long-sleeve shirt and get exclusive access to the VIP Tent at the event


It is highly recommended that all blood cancer patients or other immunocompromised individuals check with their healthcare provider before attending this event. While at the event, we urge our community to respect anyone’s choice to continue to take precautions like masking or social distancing.

There will also be a virtual event experience provided for any participants who would prefer to not join us in-person, held on November 19, 2024.

We acknowledge some participants might need ADA accommodations. We do our best to provide these accommodations at every location, however, depending on weather and venues, it may be difficult for participants using wheelchairs to move freely around all areas of specific walk sites.
