In early 2009 Laura was experiencing chronic pains, weight loss, and fatigue so deep that she never felt rested. This drove her to visit her doctor. Laura was then diagnosed with Myelofibrosis, on her birthday, and given just 3-5 years to live. Myelofibrosis is a rare, chronic blood cancer with no current cure. In the early years fear consumed her. But, with time, she learned to choose joy daily and with that came hope. Laura has now fought her battle for nearly 12 years, thanks to the advances in blood cancer treatments.
