Emmanuel “Manny” was born with Down Syndrome on October 5, 2009. On July 28, 2011, he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). He completed 6 rounds of aggressive inpatient chemo treatments which lasted over 7 months. Manny showed strength and never allowed the uncertainty to block his joy. Manny’s family reminds us daily that without the love and support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Manny’s journey would have been much harder to get through. Manny’s favorite foods are French fries and ramen noodles. Manny is the youngest of three older siblings and loves them dearly.
