In 2006, I was diagnosed with stage 4 follicular/mixed intermediate grade Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I was 26 years old at the time and had just become engaged. Instead of planning my wedding, I started chemotherapy.
I went through six months of standard chemotherapy, and then did two years of a maintenance Rituxan protocol. I truly believe that Rituxan (an LLS funded drug) has given me the extended remission I've had.
A few years after my treatment, I applied for an opening at my local LLS Chapter and have now been the Light The Night campaign manager for eight years. I have also been blessed with two children since then.
I'm proud to work for LLS and of the amazing work that LLS is doing. Join us at Light The Night this year and experience this amazing event for patients and their families and friends!
