At the age of 4 1/2 years old, Tyler was taken to the ER at St Joseph's Children's Hospital and within a few hours, we were told that he had leukemia. On March 6, 2015, at that moment, our little boy became a fighter and hasn't stopped fighting since.
With another year of treatment to go, Tyler (now 6 years old) has grown to become very comfortable at the hospital. To date, he has received 3 blood transfusions, 3 platelet transfusions, 4 doses of IVIG, had 6 ER visits, 14 lumbar punctures, countless port accesses and 39 over-night hospital stays. Currently, Tyler takes most of his chemo at home (daily) with monthly visits to the hospitals.
Tyler is a very brave boy and takes pride in teaching his little brother and sister to be brave like him, especially when they visit he doctor, too! He loves learning, playing outside on his bike and anything Star Wars. He is an amazing boy with so much love from family and friends surrounding him and helping his body get healthy again.
