Basket Of Cheer Fundraising Example

1) Ask friends, family and team members to consider donating an item to the Basket of Cheer raffle such as a 6 pack of beer, seltzer, wine, koozies, mixers, cups, etc.

2) Give a date that you would like to have the items by, and have them drop off on your porch or arrange a socially distanced meet-up

3) Put the items together in a visually appealing way.  This could be in an actual basket, or large bin, cooler, etc.

4) Give your basket a photo shoot!

5) Post the photo(s) to Facebook.  Explain the reason for the Basket Of Cheer.  For example, I am selling raffle tickets to win this awesome Basket of Cheer to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk.  Post your link to your personal fundraising page for people to make their donation.  You could also put your personal venmo account (but then there is an added step to transfer the funds to your account), or drop off cash. 

6) Sell raffle tickets for any amount you like, but some example are 1 ticket for $5 donation, 5 tickets for a $20 donation. 

7) Set the end date and post that on Facebook so people know how long they can buy tickets and participate.

8) On the day you are going to choose the winner, you can either use a computer based “random wheel spinner” to choose your winner, or use the physical raffle tickets to choose your winner.  Have someone video you choosing the winner via Facebook Live! 

9) Schedule a time to drop off the winnings or have them picked up, which can all be contact-free.
