David was diagnosed with Follicular Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in August 2016 at age 52. He is currently in remission and undergoing treatment.
David is happily married to Contessa Motl and has four children: Drew, Joshua, Sarah, and Joanna. He loves spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and golfing.
When treatment gets tough, David shares that it helped him to think of treatment as a process with a start and finish. Keeping a positive attitude helped him to endure the negatives, and celebrate the positive. David says, “Cancer is a path that refocuses your life. Each day is a blessing, so enjoy it to the fullest.”
He believes working with LLS is important because awareness is key. In David’s experience, few recognize leukemia and lymphoma as a cancer.
