After experiencing severe fatigue and back and leg pain, her parents took Savanna to the local urgent care facility. The doctor told her parents to take her to the emergency room immediately for more extensive testing. After a bone marrow biopsy, the diagnosis was acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
Savanna began her two-year chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and spinal tap injections and went into remission just 29 days after her first treatment. She now receives medications on an outpatient basis. Her family and doctors remain confident that she will achieve full recovery.
Her favorite activities include: arts and crafts, drawing, dancing, music and anything involving entertainment.
